The old B.Y.L. fellow photographer will have a fashion photography today. They need my help as the producer and grip... after yesterday's scouting, they have not get back to me about the equipments list or at least (lighting) style that he will use for this shoot (so I can pack by guess). All I want to say is... here people doing stuffs without well planning, and I hate to work with such situation.

My answer, go for it before they close. Why... she asking for a shoot similar to what we did before in a shenzhen bar for a fashion brand, and for that shoot just rental the location is CNY 7000+, and how about Makeup artist? This fee is not even enough to pay for the makeup artist we normally work with! Now I only can tell her I will wait for her portfolio, and see if I can refer her some job with that portfolio.

This light is suck... don't have 6 stop output adjustments as they promote... please don't buy it. NEVER buy it. Hong Kong office and China factory just don't give me an answer of this issue. This will be the last Falcon Eyes Product for me. 88

"You're most expensive from all quotations I have on hand so far." Just receive another email from another prospect with such a reply... yea we win again! We are on the top of the PRICE! All I want to say is "Quality comes at a price... pick us will not go wrong." I do want to be cheaper so I can make / create more good photographs to save the current culture.

Last night an awarded makeup artist ask me, is that those details i.e. flying hair should be fix by her on set, or let the photographer fix in photoshop. Sigh! What a question, and what they doing everyday？

We arrive early and checking the sun light We setup lighting with "hypersync / fake hss / highsync / supersync" and full CTO gel to shit the boring sky to blue In plan A I will shoot with one light + Umbrella deep m silver to render the photograph with contrast direction light, and the setting sun will work as the rim light to make the grass flower pop. (high fashion is no rules right ;) ) Designer arrive and set up take a bit longer then the plan, when they are done... the sun is set. (tracing the sun is a risk promise) It's lucky I have Plan B in my pocket :D, Since the sun will gone soon... we take the shoot that use macau tower as background asap. Then break down the lighting, and move them to another direct, this time we add the softcover to the umbrella deep silver to make it as a softbox, and take out our spare ring flash as on axis fill. Pre scouting is very important, this all process / issue is already in my brain and can be switch asap ;) NOTE: Always do "Pre Production", "have plan b", "Ask client fund to hire more than they believe, they know nothing about photography", "find client with budget to spend".

A good photograph is not about how many profoto you use, and also not about how many hours you photoshop that image. A good photograph is to tell story, see the makeup stylist (left)... her face show pride with satisfaction... also her hand who make such fantastic work. the model (right) her face is so happy with the result... This is a good photograph... a timeless photograph.
